Time Flies!

I can't believe how fast time is passing! It's been a lot longer since my last blog post than I thought. I enjoy visiting my friends and sisters blogs so much I have ignored mine! Yet, actually, I have been working at creating a blog for my wards Young Women. the leaders don't want me to post pictures of the girls, and I agree, for safety purposes. So I will use the blog for communications sake. I'm looking forward to getting it completed.

The semester is almost over and I'm surprised at how glad I am about that. I really enjoy my instructor, my friends and the assignments, but I am looking forward to seeing what I can do on my own. I'm also looking forward to Fall semester. I've decided to concentrate on drawing over Fall 07 and Spring 08 semesters. Drawing and life drawing are required, unlike painting, and I feel satisfied by my drawings a lot quicker than with my painting.

I am in the market for a new digital camera. Any suggestions?

EEEK!

I created this podlike thing while using my Reeves Starter Set of oil paints. I wanted to see how they worked differently than the Winsor & Newton that I usually use. Marc said, in so many unspoken words, this is a good piece to teach me how to paint myself out of a bad painting. Marc is my Simon Cowell; and I love him for that. Notice the upward flow of yellow paint toward the bottom. These are not brushstrokes. The painting, while still very wet, rubbed up against something and caused this. I have a lot of work to do to fix this!

Is it Beast or Voldemort

I actually like this spooky picture. At first it was really scary to me, but then, the more I looked at it, I thought this guy is more like Beast from Beauty and the Beast. I kind of like the poor fella.

Landscape

This is my latest painting. I believe I'm done with it. Any ideas or suggestions?

My inspiration for this picture was a photo I took of a lake in the Grand Tetons. It was absolutely beautiful there.

Thank You, Everybody!

Hey, thanks for all your comments, via the blog or email, on my paintings! It's great to get feedback from an audience. I find it very interesting how there are different favorites for different people. I will be adding another picture in a day or two. Very fun!
