It's My Turn To Say Something...

...About The Weather.

Yesterday I spent all day outside. Cameron and I worked on getting my pots ready to plant some strawberries because they are being crowded by the lavender plant that has taken over the garden. And, dearest Jessica, I even got a bit sun-kissed! I was looking forward to getting up this morning and fixing our crooked baby orange tree and chasing away all our menacing ground squirrels.

However, when I woke up it was cold and foggy! And it has stayed that way all day! Therefore, I stayed in my sweats all day and read. I read blogs, scriptures and soon I will be reading "The Black Cauldron" for my Children's Literature class. (I cannot bring myself to enjoy that book - the names given to the people and places are just too fictional for me; the story is predictable with weak character development and unimaginative plot foundation) So, the reading I do in that book will be, as I've learned in this class, unengaged; not the kind of reading you want to do on a cold, foggy day!

Which do you prefer: cold or sunny weather?
What do you like to do: on a cold day, and on a sunny day?

I wonder what kind of weather tomorrow will bring...

Meet Bethany Marie

Isn't she cute?! Bethany has been playing the piano since she was 5 years old. She took lessons for about 8 years; however, the last few years she has been teaching herself. Jon Schmidt is one of her favorite composers. Bethany has 3 real piano students, and 3 sibling piano students. These two types of students do not belong in same category; they are not the same...

Bethany is a Junior at Yucaipa High School. She is currently the Junior Class Secretary/Treasurer and is looking forward to running for ASB Vice-President for her Senior year. She is very dependable and many people look up to her as a leader.

After high school, she plans on attending the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology in Provo with her cute & fun friend Heather. Then, once she has a skill that will allow her to earn her own income, she will decide which college to attend. (her idea)

Bethany has served in her Young Women class presidency's and participates in the ward choir. This is her third year of attending seminary. She has been responsible for getting herself up and ready in the mornings every year without either of her parents needing to nag, prod, beg or bribe. Even now that she can drive, she still gets herself to seminary and goes to class.

She has lots of friends and many of them come to her to unload about their most "horrendous" happenings. Because of this she can carry the weight of the world on her shoulders. Yet, she continues on...

I love my Betty Mae! She has been a constant source of drama...I mean, Joy...in our home. She is the best! And I'm not saying that just because I'm her Mom, either. I know Bethany best as a friend because she has ALWAYS been there for me as a friend. Loving others is one of her greatest qualities.

She is a gift to all who know her...My Bethany Marie!

Early Morning Seminary

Does 4:30 a.m. really exist?

I guess I'll be learning the answer to this question soon enough. I was asked to substitute Bethany's seminary class for the month of May. Her teacher is going to England for several weeks with friends; hubby is staying home!

Anyhoo ~ I will be getting up at 4:30(ish) because I have to be at the church at 6:00 a.m. for the teachers devotional and prayer meeting. Not only do I have to be there at 6:00 a.m., I have to be dressed in Sunday clothes with a prepared lesson...every morning...5 days in a row...for 4 weeks...

I believe I start my sub assignment with the Lamentations of Jeremiah...how appropo! :)

Let's Applaud for...

...JUDY! (still stalking) This is a depiction of her during one of her recent performances as Dido. If anyone could pull this off, she could! Cousin Jodi was vying for this position; however, Judy's recent experience on the Vaudeville circuit gave her the edge needed to clinche the role. Sorry Jodi!

Para Mi Hermana Judita

So, here's the story...

Martha Graham

Paul Taylor

...due to the fact that I am suffering from "Empty Lap Syndrome", and will continue suffering until I have Grand-Bambino's, I decided to go to school to earn my degrees.

One of my classes right now is Humanities 101; and I love it! I am learning about all the arts - music, visual, literature, sculpture, architecture and dance. I'm reading, reading, reading about the history of each discipline and the people who have played pivotal roles in their development.

Almost everything I read makes me think of Judy because of her great love of, and respect for, the arts and artists - and the fact that she teaches the art of the English Language everyday. As of late, I have been stalking her by sending her emails about the things I read...as if she has never heard of these people, or seen their works, or read their poems before (silly me).

Anyway, when I came across the pictures of Martha Graham and Paul Taylor (pioneers in Modern Dance)I was so moved by them I had to share them! However, because I had been stalking her quite a bit, I decided to post the pictures and let her enjoy them in her own way, on her own time, and IF she had never heard of them before she could decide whether she would do further research to learn more about them. See, I'm thoughtful...

...AND I know my limits.

Woe & Misery

For some reason I am not able to upload pictures or video to my posts! :(

Why, Why, Why?!

I'm afraid I'm going to have to use my post area as the narration for my pictures on the sidebars...like a tour guide..."and on the left, let's look at the picture of...".

ERRR.

Where is the Blog Fairy when you need her anyway; I haven't fired her yet.

Well...

the basic layout is here. I hope to have it more complete by Monday. Wish me luck!

My Name Is...

Micalanne Josephine Penelope Underwood Lucille Verna Martha Pederson Child (but you can just call me Wilma) ~ and I am a Read-All-The-Blogs-aholic!
There, I've said it! Now that the truth is known, I feel much more comfortable with the fact that my blog is old and dreary; still bearing the dated, un-hip, un-customized look of blog days gone by.
So, my friends, I need your help! Just stop posting for awhile, okay?! Just until I don't feel the need to read so strongly! If I can be free to customize my blog, which is a top priority, I'm sure we will feel much better about the world around us! Yes?
Do I have any Non-Blog For Micalanne's Blog Benefit commitments out there? Any?
