Today I'm Thinking Of....

1 - Joy and her family! I hope you have a very safe drive back home. I know that it's hard to see the road through teary eyes from leaving your family in Utah, so just use lots of Kleenex!

2 - Gregory... I Miss you Brother! I Love You so much!

3 - My Chickens - All 12 of them - Gone!
Eaten - Heads pulled off - Ran away - Trampled flat
What do we Eat for Christmas Dinner Now?!
Am I expected to continue to use white, grocery store eggs without the promise of pretty blue, green or yellow eggs to bake with?

Love Her!

My New Favorite Artist - Irma P

Hello My Friends!

I am a very lucky girl; because, now that the kids are older, I have the opportunity to study and work hard at gaining a college education. Ultimately, my goal is to earn my PhD in Humanities. I still have a long way to go - about 9 years.

Reading, and learning new things, is one of my favorite things to do. However, when my brain gets swollen from studying, I like to pick up some brushes and paints and do what Cameron calls, "Free Mind Painting". The following pictures are of the latest paintings I have done. They were a lot of fun to do. I'm not going to give them any titles, but thought that maybe you all would have some fun giving them titles. I would especially love to hear what the kids would call them - they have great imaginations! So, have at 'em!

Judy & Jamie's Boyfriends Have Been Busy!

Thursday morning, after leaving the house to go to a camp meeting, Bethany came running back into the house saying, "There's a fire on the hill!" Sure enough, there on the hill just behind our house, were fast moving flames headed right toward 4 homes.

Although the fire was extremely close, I knew from experience (fire on the hills/mountains every year) there was no need to worry or panic BECAUSE - Judy & Jamie's BOYFRIENDS are so Quick-To-Respond! Within 20 minutes of the break out of this fire, there were Fire Trucks, Airplanes & Helicopters battling the flames!

The helicopters and airplanes fly right over our house because they refill at the reservoir at the top of the hills in front of our house.

The Boyfriends worked all day and into the night to secure the homes and extinguish all smoldering spots.

It's awesome watching their precision in dropping the fire retardant, especially when you consider they are working in low visibility due to the smoke. Girls, you sure know how to pick 'em!

Summer Foods

In a previous post, I asked everyone what they liked to eat during the hot summer months. And I promised that if you told me what you liked, I would tell you what I liked. (Similar to - "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" - but in better taste)

Now, you have to understand that I am not a Foodie by nature - I'm just married to one, and the mother to four others. So I am a Foodie by association and responsibility.

With that being said, let's get on with it!

I like anything you can throw on the Bar-B! In particular chicken...

...and corn-on-the-cob!

But for middle of the day when I'm simply sitting at my desk with the air blowing directly on me, and yet sweating up a storm because it's 115 degrees outside, nothing beats a "Nice, Cold Cranberry-Grape & Orange Juice with Crushed Ice in a Cute Cup Treat" - So Refreshing!

Of course, for those with a sweet-tooth, there's the summertime staple of cotton candy and chocolate chip cookies. As much as I love them, I try to ignore them...hence the teeny-tiny pictures.

And Now For My Very Favorite of All Time - Mexican Food! Anytime day or night, give me pork verde tacos with cilantro, quacamole, carrots, radishes and a squeeze of lime! There's a party for your taste-buds people!

So, for anyone out there who could possibly be bored with their summer - Go Make Something Yummy and Put a Party in Your Mouth!

Munch On, My Friends!
