Well, school will officially be out on Thursday; and knowing what that will bring leads me to the decision to put this blog on Vacation Mode! So, to all you fellow bloggers I bid you a summer "Farewell! My next post will be August 20, 2007!"
Much Love,
Micalanne

Hey, does this mean you won't be reading or saying "HI" from time to time? I will miss you....
I will be reading several blogs quite often and maybe I will post a blog or two. Our summers are usually jam packed with stuff to do so I just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't dropped out of the blogging world.
I promise to say "Hi, Janet!" at least once a week!
What's the matter with you?! If you have stuff going on you have to post! Cardinal Rule. (By the way, what is a cardinal rule?)
OK, because I'm supposed to be writing a paper, I decided to research "Cardinal Rule." I thought it had to do with Cardinals and Popes, etc. But apparently, that's not where "cardinal rule" comes from. Cardinal refers to a basic or primary value. Examples of cardinal numbers are 1, 7, 9, and 123. A cardinal rule is a rule that is basic or essential. Cardinal numbers can be contrasted with ordinal numbers.
This makes me super sad...but I do understand....summer is super busy....and hopefully I will get so busy painting that I will have a hard time blogging as well! We will miss you....and you better keep posting your art!
I thought cardinal rule had something to do with the pope, too! So, now I am a more educated woman than I was this morning! You are a true teacher, Judy!
Yes Dawnae...get really busy with your art! I just bought a 36x48 canvas that I want to use for the church competition! Yikes! It is sitting in the corner of my family room STARING at me...make it stop!
Cardinal rule has to do with the CANNON CARDINALS...oh come on girls, what were you thinking?
I am glad to read these responses for 2 reaons -
1 - Micalanne will not be vanishing from the face of the Internet world for too long and will say "Hi" to me at leaset 1 time each week
and
2 - I am not the only Grad Student who is to be writing a paper, but reading blogs instead...
class in 45 mins...and I'm still not done - YIKES!
Janet you crack me up! I was confused and I looked up Cannon Cardinals, then went, duh!!!
Loved being a Cannon Cardinal...most of the time!
I hated Cannon. I was in high school in California, and when we moved to Vegas I had to go back to jr. high. I was personally offended. I went to four jr. high schools. Simi Valley, San Jose, Downey, Las Vegas. I just couldn't take anymore.
But I did think the two-level gym was awesome. I told everyone back in California about that.
I ditched school a lot because I was so miserable. I would get dropped off, then walk home. I was always so scared because I was afraid the truant officers would pick me up and take me to jail. I was behind in all my classes, and couldn't catch up, I felt stupid. I had an undiagnosed learning disability and it was catching up to me. I was getting really frustrated by this point.
I liked Valley, though. I kept ditching, and was rarely there, but I didn't hate it. I had good friends, and that made the difference.
I do have an interesting tidbit about Valley High School, both the one in Vegas and the one I work at now. My former department chair taught at Valley in Vegas right after our family moved. Small world, isn't it?
