Hello My Friends!

I am a very lucky girl; because, now that the kids are older, I have the opportunity to study and work hard at gaining a college education. Ultimately, my goal is to earn my PhD in Humanities. I still have a long way to go - about 9 years.

Reading, and learning new things, is one of my favorite things to do. However, when my brain gets swollen from studying, I like to pick up some brushes and paints and do what Cameron calls, "Free Mind Painting". The following pictures are of the latest paintings I have done. They were a lot of fun to do. I'm not going to give them any titles, but thought that maybe you all would have some fun giving them titles. I would especially love to hear what the kids would call them - they have great imaginations! So, have at 'em!

I love those, Micalanne. As a sailor, I like the first one. I like the last one because it's a little creepy. It reminds me of the fall/winter and scary stories. And the second one that looks like the sun is really cool.

Are you going to open an art gallery? I'll come!

I think the second one should be called Lollipop:)

Judy - I like to do these kinds of paintings because I really creep myself out by what I end up painting!

Jamie - I would absolutely love to open a gallery! I already have five artists in mind whose work I want to collect. One of those artists does some amazing abstract work that is very moving. Someday...and on a corner near your home...expect a Grand Opening!

HaHa! Love the Lollipop idea! :)

Very cool...maybe Darbi can be featired in your gallery someday - or just work there. She loves art. I'll have her look at your pics. & see what she comes up with.

How bizarre. I saw Judy's comment, and being a sailor myself I would think that I would have thought of the sea. Nope. My first thought was looking down on low-lying clouds from a mountain peak in the wee hours of the night/morning. The reflection from a full moon (not visible in the painting) would make the clouds "glow".

Of course, I did see the sea in later viewings.

Sara, I would love to hear what Darbi has to say!

Mark, so glad you stopped by!

Jenna & Jobi, I not only love to paint, I love to view other people's art as well. I challenge you two to try something - drawing, painting - anything, then sharing it with us! :) I would love to see it!

So, I finally had Darbi look at these - she LOVED them! Her words:

#1 - "ooh, the ocean"
'Ocean Breeze'
#2 - "Oh, that looks like a fingerprint"
'Fingerprint Mystery'
#3 - "Oh, I really like that one"
'Volcano Sunset'
#4 - "I've painted a picture like that before"
'Tree Haunting'

She was so cute & excited looking at these, if only you could have heard her excitement as she looked at each one. Great job, Mic!

Dawnae! I can't wait to see your new paintings! How are you?!

Darbi I'm so glad you looked at my paintings! And I really like your titles for them. I understand you have taken art classes at the Redlands Gallery. How did you like it? What kind of classes did you take? Drawing, Painting? Are you going to take more classes? I would love to see some of your artwork! Much love to you Darbi!
