Judy & Jamie's Boyfriends Have Been Busy!

Thursday morning, after leaving the house to go to a camp meeting, Bethany came running back into the house saying, "There's a fire on the hill!" Sure enough, there on the hill just behind our house, were fast moving flames headed right toward 4 homes.

Although the fire was extremely close, I knew from experience (fire on the hills/mountains every year) there was no need to worry or panic BECAUSE - Judy & Jamie's BOYFRIENDS are so Quick-To-Respond! Within 20 minutes of the break out of this fire, there were Fire Trucks, Airplanes & Helicopters battling the flames!

The helicopters and airplanes fly right over our house because they refill at the reservoir at the top of the hills in front of our house.

The Boyfriends worked all day and into the night to secure the homes and extinguish all smoldering spots.

It's awesome watching their precision in dropping the fire retardant, especially when you consider they are working in low visibility due to the smoke. Girls, you sure know how to pick 'em!

What nice boyfriends - Manly Men. How did Bart & Ashley do in their races yesterday? Did you go?

I missed my boyfriends while they were away from me. Glad they pretty much saved your lives!

Well, I'm glad Judy & Jamie's boyfriends were hard at work even though it was the 4th of July. Aren't firemen great!

They are amazing! I really do have a lot of respect for all men (and women) in uniform that put their lives in danger. Last year on the eve of the fourth Rob and I sat outside til about 2:30 in the morning and watched a fire burn on the mountain side. Those were cool pictures you took! Thanks!

Wow, lucky you. Had a fire and had it put out in the same day. We are still smothering in smoke here. The poor firefighters. In fact I am suprised you had any left down there, I thought they were all up here.

I had no idea there was a fire up there. George had a job up there on the 4th & we drove up there to see the house (AMAZING STUFF IN THERE!). On our way up the very windy road, we saw the fire trucks & CDF fire vans & trucks & a helicopter kept flying over head & dropping retardant. We came to the conclusion that we were driving towards a fire. It was RIGHT NEXT to the house we were driving to. I found out later that it had started the day before. CRAZY!

Judy Lucy -Bart & Ashley did not run yesterday. We didn't go to San Diego because there was mutiny in the trailer, and Lauren has had the barfs for a couple days - but only at night. She will be fine during the day, then when night hits, she throws up. Poor thing. Let's hope she gets over it because camp starts Monday. It would be her luck to be sick at camp. Things like that always happen to her...

Jamie - I think your BoyFriends need a nice dinner and a backrub!

Wendy - :)

Jodi Kay - you are right, we can't forget the Women in Uniform!

Joy :) - I think we had a total of 3 firefighters - one in the firetruck, one in the helicopter, and one in the airplane!
