Whether you embrace it,
or “buck” it,
traditions are what make
the Holiday Season
go 'round.
In a few simple words, or several long phrases,
please tell me:
What does Tradition mean to You?
Where do your Traditions come from?
and
Are you Loyal to your Traditions;
or,
Do you shake things up a bit by
doing things differently than expected
every once in a while?
If you shake things up, how is it received
by everyone?

I'm big on tradition. I like things the same way, same things, all the time. I like to stick to what we always do & get very flustered if things have to change.
My traditions come from everywhere. I have carried over a lot that we did as kids & some things I've heard of other people doing & started with my family.
I love traditions. Zac and I still make treat plates and leave them on people's doorsteps from the elves, then run and hide. BTW, one year in elementary school he had to talk about a family holiday tradition and he told that one. One kid said, how do people know the treats aren't poisoned, and Zac said - "they just know. It's from the elves." - like, duh!
The elves still come to our house starting December 1st to leave Zac a little treat in his stocking. I loved it when Zac used to stay at Paul's (Zac's Jewish father), and the elves still came to Zac at his dad's house - that was sweet. One year when I was little the elves left me a note to try harder - they probably really meant that note to go to Amy.
We open one present on Christmas Eve - jammies.
We go to the movies on Christmas Day.
We drink hot chocolate on Christmas Eve.
I can't wait for grandbabies to carry on and make more traditions.
I love it! I love to hear what's important to people and how they incorporate it into their lives to make it more meaningful.
we get pj's on Christmas Eve, too.
we drink Tom and Jerry's on Christmas Day (I have mine without rum, however)
we play games or make a puzzle on Chrsitmas
We eat too much
I try to have a sofa nap as it is the best on Christmas
But, Clannie, you've got to share, too ...
